WEBINAR: Integration of Home Monitoring in Lung Diseases (Focus on Rheumatic Conditions)
We were excited about the opportunity to discuss the integration of home monitoring in lung diseases, with a particular focus on patients with rheumatic conditions.
During this webinar, we explored several key topics, including:

Why we want home monitoring, including supporting self-management and enabling earlier and ongoing detection of change.

What we knew at that time about the validity and reliability of home spirometry, patient experience and adherence, and applications in routine care, clinical trials, and registries, with a brief note on complementary tools such as activity trackers.

Challenges of home monitoring, including data quality and interpretation, workflow integration, adherence, reimbursement and equity, and governance—and we outlined pragmatic solutions for clinical practice.
This session aimed to provide practical insights for clinicians and researchers while highlighting the latest innovations in digital health and patient-centered care for ILD.

Marlies Wijsenbeek is a pulmonary physician and Professor of Interstitial Lung Diseases at Erasmus MC, Rotterdam— a national ILD expert centre within ERN-Lung—where she chairs the multidisciplinary ILD centre. Her research focuses on e-health, patient-centred outcomes, cough in ILD, and novel therapies for ILD and sarcoidosis. She is Secretary of ERS Assembly 12 and Associate Editor of the European Respiratory Journal.
