Listen to our eighth Podcast with Johannes Knitza interviewing Julie Soulard. She is a French physiotherapist, who is particularly involved in research on gait analysis with wearable sensors. She will defend her PhD on gait and axial apondyloarthritis in a few weeks. She answers questions on her last paper published in Sensors with the title “Foot-Worn Inertial Sensors are Reliable to Assess Spatiotemporal Gait Parameters in Axial Spondyloarthritis under Single and Dual Task Walking”.
This study demonstrates the reliability of inertial sensors to assess spatio-temporal gait parameters during the 10-m walk test and opens up perspectives on the use of wearable sensors in clinical routine to better assess gait, help to follow disease evolution or capture flares in saxial spondyloarthritis.
