How to DIGA in Germany?

Julia Hagen

Abstract

The health care system is undergoing fundamental changes due to digitization. There is growing evidence that digital therapeutics can effectively improve the course of diseases. Mostly chronic disorders are addressed by behaviour change or exercise programs. In Germany, so-called DIGAs (Digitale Gesundheits Anwendung = Digital Health Application) now are covered by health insurers as long as they meet certain quality criteria. Learn more about it by watching this talk of Julia Hagen. She works for the HIH which  serves as a think tank, sparring partner, and implementation supporter for the Federal Ministry of Health and its subordinate authorities, among others. The team was set up as a point of contact and bridge between all major stakeholders of the German health care system.
